The Companion - A1 ink Drawing

Maria Tiurina is an artist based in London, UK - working as a games artist at Mediatonic LTD. She is spending most of free time expanding her illustration, character art and graphic design portfolio. Her latest drawing is called; The Companion. It's an A1 format ink in cardboard - adrawing that took almost half a year to complete. Also she used watercolor, pencil and markers.
It's a story about two friends - a girl and her imaginary pet - who travelled for a long time, saw many beautiful places and met a lot of new people, creatures and animals who joined them as their journey continued. They arrived to something that resembles the edge of the world, and at first it might seem that their adventure has come to an end, but the girl is pointing at something high above that we cannot see, showing to her companion that there are more things to discover and enjoy together if only they wish to continue moving forward. Travel, see, feel, collect everything you find in your life - you never know what things you will want to have with you when the journey comes to an end.

This is Shania McDonagh

a young and talented girl who entered a drawing competition.

And this was what she drew....

The jury of the competition described here work as "one of the most talented artists of her generation, and one whose skill could see her become one of Ireland’s foremost portrait artists of the future.”

Strangers. Friends. Best friends. Lovers. Strangers.

Torched the haystack. Found the needle.
